A little DIY flower pin re-do

I'm very crafty at heart, but I'm not always good at it. I love, love, love being creative, though. Even if my project doesn't turn out all that great. But, what I love EVEN MORE is doing something creative that repurposes something I already have, and saves me money, too!

I've had this flower lapel pin for quite a while (years!). It came with a cute blazer that I bought, but I just haven't worn it with the blazer an awful lot. It's a cute flower, but I just haven't found a practical use for it. So I've been thinking about using it as a hair clip for my daughter or myself.

I sat down with it over lunch on Friday, and pulled out an old glittery hair barrette that I use to wear (back in the day). Here's the flower pin before . . .

And, here's the barrette before . . .

I first snipped the beads off of the old barrette, and threw them into my sewing box for possible reuse. I also pulled the pin off of the back of the flower pin. Then, with the help of my handy, dandy hot glue gun, I simply put a little glue along the entire top part of the barrette, and adhered it to the flower.

Voila! Isn't it cute?!

It's the perfect little Spring accessory for my daughter or myself.
